Generalization of bi-canonical degrees

چکیده

We discuss invariants of Cohen-Macaulay local rings that admit a canonical module $\omega$. Attached to each such ring R, when $\omega$ is an ideal, there are integers--the type the reduction number $\omega$--that provide valuable metrics express deviation R from being Gorenstein ring. In arXiv:1701.05592 and arXiv:1711.09480 we enlarged this list with degree bi-canonical degree. work extend where not necessarily ideal. also generalizations without modules but admitting sharing some their properties.

The degrees of bi-hyperhyperimmune sets

We study the degrees of bi-hyperhyperimmune (bi-hhi) sets. Our main result characterizes these degrees as those that compute a function that is not dominated by any ∆2 function, and equivalently, those that compute a weak 2-generic. These characterizations imply that the collection of bi-hhi Turing degrees is closed upwards.

Generalization between canonical and non-canonical views in object recognition.

Viewpoint generalization in object recognition is the process that allows recognition of a given 3D object from many different viewpoints despite variations in its 2D projections. We used the canonical view effects as a foundation to empirically test the validity of a major theory in object recognition, the view-approximation model (Poggio & Edelman, 1990). This model predicts that generalizati...

Finite Hilbert Stability of (bi)canonical Curves

We prove that a generic canonically or bicanonically embedded smooth curve has semistable m Hilbert points for all m ≥ 2. We also prove that a generic bicanonically embedded smooth curve has stable m Hilbert points for all m ≥ 3. In the canonical case, this is accomplished by proving finite Hilbert semistability of special singular curves with Gm-action, namely the canonically embedded balanced...

a generalization of strong causality

Generalization of Canonical Correlation Analysis from Multivariate to Functional Cases and its related problems

In multivariate cases, the aim of canonical correlation analysis (CCA) for two sets of variables x and y is to obtain linear combinations of them so that they have the largest possible correlation. However, when x and y are continouse functions of another variable (generally time) in nature, these two functions belong to function spaces which are of infinite dimension, and CCA for them should b...
